More than 24 hours have passed since reports appeared in the press of the arrest of three Central Committee members of the CPI (Maoist) from Basal Village, Barsoi P.S., District, Katihar on April 29. However, the Bihar police continues to hold custody beyond the mandated time period.

PUDR demands that the Bihar police be directed to immediately produce all those arrested and any others detained along with them before a magistrate so as to prevent any form of torture or harassment.
