In Palamu and Gumla districts of Jharkhand (erstwhile Bihar) tens of thusands people successfuly prevented the army for conducting field firing and artillery practice on their land in 1994. Later on the plan for making thie entire area in to firing range was scrapped. PUDR sent a fac finding team which toured the area from 22 June to 26 June 1994 and met mofficials such as BDO, Circle officer, Divisonel Commissoner Spokesperson of the Artiller Batallion.The team also met large number of people from the affected villages as well as representatives of organisation leading the struggle. This is the story of tribal prople struggle against the displcement.
